"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children… This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."
Money already spent on war." — Former U.S. President, Dwight D. Eisenhower, in a speech on April 16, 1953
The above film/video is an explanation by people of what the U.S. government could have done with the money wasted on the American 'War on Terror'.
The problem is that this is just an example with the first $87 Billion used. Now however there has been more than five times the amount ($87 billion) shown. The stats are amazing, we can see how well a government could have improved its national education, infrastructure, and taken care of children's health. Think about what war means, and why countries should spend so much money on it, isn't it better to live in peace and build up a country?
